Working Toward a Brighter 2021
As many of you may have heard, we have decided to move forward with the 2021 Thomas Point Beach Bluegrass Festival this August/September. The past year has been a challenging and heartbreaking year for many in our Bluegrass family. It is our hope to help pull us out of these tough times, and we are working hard to provide a light at the end of this tunnel. Something to look forward to, something to inspire us all to keep our heads up, for the better times ahead.
Much like last year, we are taking all of this one day at a time, with hope, and optimism. With that, we feel it is important to let you know that we are also doing our best to remain realistic. The health and safety of everyone in our community is at the forefront of our minds, and our plans. We are keeping a close eye on statistics and trends, and the guidance of our health and safety officials. As we navigate these truly uncharted waters, we want to assure you that we are taking this job very seriously.
Ticket Blocks
Members of our mailing list may have noticed that we “sold out” once already! That is unheard of! Well, it was actually completely expected, and we may very well sell out again.
In an attempt to keep our numbers manageable while we approach the festival opening day, we have decided to release ticket availability in blocks. We are not entirely sure what the world will look like in August, and we want to be prepared. It is for that reason that we are easing in to our numbers as we grow closer to the date.
There may come a time when we determine that we are at what we feel is a safe and manageable capacity. There may also come a time when we announce that we have opened completely. We simply don’t know for sure yet. Either way, we feel that the safest option is to take it slow, and in stages. In this way, we hope to set ourselves, and all of you, up for a safe and successful festival. Because, after all, that is the most important part.
Be sure to join our newsletter to be the first to know when new tickets are opened to the public, so you don’t miss out!
Festival Health and Safety Guidelines
Some of you are probably wondering what our Health and Safety Guidelines will be for the 2021 Festival. While we would love to have an exact outline to share with you today, it is simply too early to tell.
We feel that an effective and comprehensive set of Health and Safety Guidelines must be agile, and in many ways tailored to the considerations of the time. We’re sure we could list many things that go without saying: wash your hands, don’t share cups, don’t lick your neighbor. However, more specific rules would simply be speculation. With that, we feel that announcing any at this time would be doing a disservice to everyone involved.
What we can say is that the Health and Safety of our customers, our staff, and our performers, is paramount, and drives every decision we consider and make.
The only thing we ask in return is understanding, and a commitment to the same. By working together, we feel strongly that this can be done in such a way that your Health and Safety can be synonymous with your Happiness and Joy.
Supporting Each Other
While the festival draws nearer, we ask everyone to be safe, and support each other in these tough times. Support your fellow Bluegrassers, be them friends, family, or performers. Be an ear, a shoulder, a pillar of support, or a patron. Just… whatever you do, do it from 6 feet away. 😉
Additionally, we encourage anyone of the opinion to receive a vaccination to do so. We do not intend to personally decide to require vaccination to attend the festival this year. However, we will follow whatever guidelines are put in place by local and national governments, and being vaccinated simply removes one point of uncertainty.
Whatever you do, be safe and considerate of others in our great Bluegrass Family.
Together we can do this! Together we can persevere. Smiling around a campfire, playing the music of our hearts, a family again.
